MOVEMENT FOR ANY AGE
Hi! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sandra Reed and I am the founder of Easi Yoga. I retired from my normal job at 59 years of age and decided then and there that I needed to find something that I could practice for the rest of my life, that would keep me healthy in the body and the mind. I had been doing yoga with a Dru teacher for some time and really enjoyed it, so I decided to undertake the Dru Yoga Teacher training course. As I progressed and discovered the many benefits this discipline offered, I started teaching my friends. After qualifying, I commenced teaching classes in a local community centre.
I'm now 71 and work with people of all ages who want to rejuvenate their whole being. I absolutely love what I do!
The reason I am so passionate about Dru Yoga is that it, has taken me on a journey of self-discovery evolving me into a better person emotionally, energetically and spiritually.
I now feel it is my responsibility to help as many people as possible improve their mental and physical wellbeing so that they can lead a more productive and joyful life.

WHAT IS EASI YOGA
The aim of Easi Yoga is to let go of the stress and pressure of modern-day living, through graceful soft flowing movements, controlled and directed breathing, visualization, relaxation and meditation. The Dru Yoga methodology can be modified to suit any age or skill level. It can even be adapted to practice in a chair for those less mobile. Beginners are always welcome.
Students leave classes feeling relaxed in body and mind and many sleep better.
Most classes run for 90 minutes with the exception of our chair-based classes which run for 60 minutes.
The structure of each class includes a warm-up, followed by an Energy Block Release Sequence (to unblock tightness in the muscles and joints). We then undertake some posture work (mostly to improve the health of the spine and also to increase joint mobility). There are always breathing exercises to relax the body and mind before we go into a relaxation giving the body a chance to heal. Finally, we finish with a short meditation.
Tuesday Evenings: 6pm to 7.30pm
Wednesday Mornings: 10am to 11.30am
Chair Based Class: Tuesday at 2pm

I recommend trying out one class to see if this is what you are looking for and then if suitable you can join us for the term. Each term coincides with school terms (Victoria Australia) and varies between 7 and 10 weeks.
